Let be honest, going to the gym isn’t exactly recognized as a social gathering; most women, have the habit of throwing on an old pair of leggings and a tired old sweatshirt when burning up a sweat. However, having the right gym essentials is a motivating factor and influencer when running on that treadmill.

A supportive sports bra is key – purchasing a well-fitted bra can make all the difference in the world when acquiring in other gym supplies. Our personal favorite is the Victoria Secret’s Sport Collection. They provide a high quality collection and offer 3 support levels of bras which come in a complete range of sizes. A more fitted and slimming style for gym tops is popular now. It is important to look for fabrics with performance enhancing materials, as it prevents sweat and assists in keeping a cool workout.

Choosing the right bottoms will vary based upon the type of exercise you will be active in. Such pants can range from straight leggings to yoga stretch pants. We suggest purchasing a pair of high quality leggings that will last a few years. Such brands we advise include; Nike, Lulu Lemon, Victoria Secret, Adidas and Puma.

Purchasing footwear for the gym is essential. It is important to purchase running shoes that provide good support. New Balance has always kept their customers’ needs as their core value. We strongly suggest purchasing these shoes, as they are chic, sleek and practical for daily gym use.

Scarves might just be the favourite accessory of the winter season. If I had to shop for just one thing for the rest of my life it might be scarves. And…scarves aren’t just for the colder weather.

Scarves are amazing and can take any outfit up a notch. They are one of the most versatile accessories in the shops, whether I’m wearing a thick knit one in the winter or a light one on a warmer spring day.

But how to tie a scarf?

We asked the Fashion Merchandising students at Live Chic what their favorite methods are and came up with 4 different scarf tying ideas. Some are classics and some will be your new favorite thing.

Canadian Accessories…

At Live Chic we carry local and Canadian brands so it is no surprise that we have teamed up with the Toronto based company ‘Pixie Mood’ launched in 2010. The company distributes on-trend accessories that are cruelty-free and vegan-friendly.

Pixie Mood uses a type of vegan leather that is called polyurethane (PU-leather), the use of PU-leather has much less harmful impact on the planet than more commonly used products like vinyl or PVC. Their PU-leather also does not crack with the changing Canadian weather and is much softer than other artificial fabrics.

Another great company that we are working with is ‘Ezzy Lynn’, made by three young and entrepreneurial graduates from Western University also in London, ON. Ezzy Lynn was launched in May of 2014 and has become a lifestyle brand of trendsetting apparel and accessories.

All of their products are handcrafted from vegan and upcycled materials and each item also represents a unique endangered animal, which they adopt through WWF-Canada from proceeds of each sale. Live Chic loves what Ezzy Lynn creates and how they give back to a charity. It adds to why we love selling their scrunchies in our store.

Every season something becomes popular and outsells all other product on the shelves.

Two popular items this year include ‘Vinyl Luxx’ nail polish and our clothing line ‘C’estMoi’.

Everybody absolutely can’t get enough of long lasting nail polish – Vinyl Luxx. Nothing is worse than spending an hour painting your nails then having them chip the next day. Gel nails and hard coating overcoats helps protect for a more durable finish. At LC, we sell long lasting polish but at a fraction of the price of other retailers so you really can’t go wrong with these products!

The ‘C’est Moi’ brand is a one size fits all clothing line that’s simple, chic, and unbelievably comfy! Now I’m usually not a huge fan of one size clothing lines because they never truly seems to fit everybody quite right, but this one is exceptional.

The collection is made up of mostly neutral colours and has a lot of the basics that every wardrobe can use.  In our store you will see 3/4 sleeve dresses, leggings, and tank tops.
